NSA Violated Surveillance Rules Thousands of Times, Intercepted All 202 Area Code Calls By Accident

The Washington Post has revealed the National Security Agency has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008. According to an NSA audit from May 2012 leaked by Edward Snowden, there were 2,776 incidents in the preceding 12 months of unauthorized collection, storage, access to or distribution of legally protected communications. In one case, the NSA intercepted a "large number" of calls placed from Washington when a programming error confused the U.S. area code 202 for 20, the international dialing code for Egypt. The audit only counted violations committed at the NSA's Fort Meade headquarters and other facilities in the Washington area. NSA director Gen. Keith Alexanders keynote July 31st at Black Hat USA 2013

Director Gen. Keith Alexander is a deceiver and a liar lying through his teeth , who takes orders off a corrupt government that is controlled by corrupt corporations and corrupt wall st. banksters .The US priority is to create terrorism, domestic and abroad, to justify its war on terror. The US NEEDS terrorists. But, since there aren't enough to justify its war on terror, which is no other than a neo-Nazi colonial war, it creates them. It creates them by provoking terrorist vocations abroad with drone strikes that kill 98% innocent civilians. And, it creates them at home out of thin air by classifying all law abiding citizen in a terrorist category, plus FBI organized terror attacks.Maybe if the US would stopping bombing the middle east. Maybe they would leave us alone

While speaking at an annual conference of hacker and cybersecurity experts on Wednesday morning, National Security Agency head Gen. Keith Alexander was heckled by members of the audience for his agency's surveillance operations and for his controversial testimony before Congress...
The director of the NSA is heckled during his keynote address at a conference for hackers and cybersecurity experts in Las Vegas

National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander was jeered as he pleaded with professional hackers and cyber-security experts to reconsider the indiscriminate NSA surveillance during a speech at the annual Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Alexander claimed that the surveillance methods, disclosed by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, have been mischaracterized by the media and are subject to rigorous government oversight. He was approximately 30 minutes into his speech when an audience member, later revealed to be 30-year-old security consultant Jon McCoy, shouted "Freedom!" "Exactly," Alexander replied from the stage. "We stand for freedom."

"Bullshit!" McCoy said.

"Not bad," the NSA director retorted. "But I think what you're saying is that in these cases, what's the distinction, where's the discussion and what tools do we have to stop this." "No, I'm saying I don't trust you," McCoy said over applause. "You lied to Congress," another voice jumped in. "Why would people believe you're not lying to us right now?" "I haven't lied to Congress," said Alexander, who is notoriously press averse. "I do think it's important for us to have this discussion. Because in my opinion, what you believe is what's written in the press without looking at the facts. This is the greatest technical center of gravity in the world. I ask that you all look at those facts."

NSA Listens and Records EVERYTHING !!

"we collect but don't listen" is like "I smoked but didn't inhale" ,USA has so many agencies, like 80 agencies! So NSA can deny they do anything, its outsourced to BNA as example ,even confronted they still lie - just like they didn't just yesterday break down a door for someone googling and announce why yes ALL emails are read , Let's be honest here, if they have not prosecuted these guys by now for their flagrant abuse of the US constitution then they are not going to. So we can add spying on citizens to banking fraud, lying to go to war, war profiteering, laundering drug money. Have i left anything out?

Mysterious Death Of Barnaby Jack Today By John Massaria at UniBrowStudioVision
BOSTON—

Well-known hacker Barnaby Jack has died in San Francisco, a week before he was due to show off techniques for attacking implanted heart devices that he said could kill a man from 30 feet away.

The San Francisco Medical Examiner's office said he died in the city on Thursday. It gave no details.

Jack, a security expert, became one of the most famous hackers on the planet after a 2010 demonstration in which he forced ATMs to spit out cash, dubbed "Jackpotting."

According to the Black Hat website, Jack was to present Aug. 3-4 on "Hacking Humans."

"I will discuss how these devices operate and communicate and the security shortcomings of the current protocols. Our internal research software will be revealed that utilizes a common bedside transmitter to scan for, and interrogate individual medical implants," according to promotional material for the event.

The hacking community expressed shock as the news of his death spread via Twitter early on Friday.

"Wow ... Speechless," Tweeted mobile phone hacker Tyler Shields.

Jack's most recent employer, the cyber security consulting firm IOActive Inc, said in a Tweet: "Lost but never forgotten our beloved pirate, Barnaby Jack has passed."

Jack's genius was finding bugs in the tiny computers that are embedded in equipment such as medical devices and banking machines. He received standing ovations at hacking conventions for his creativity and showmanship.

"You grimy bastard. I was just talking up about your awesome work last night," Tweeted Dino Dai Zovi, a hacker known for his skill at finding bugs in Apple products. "You'll be missed, bro."

Friends and fans alike Tweeted memorials to Jack's Twitter handle, @barnaby_jack.

Dan Kaminsky, an expert in Internet security, Tweeted that he had hoped the news of Jack's death was a prank: "God, the stories. Nobody caused such hilarious trouble like @barnaby_jack."

While Jack's attacks on ATMs brought him the most attention, his work on medical devices may have a much broader impact.

Two years ago, while working at McAfee, he engineered methods for attacking insulin pumps that prompted medical device maker Medtronic Inc to bring in outside security firms and revamp the way it designs its products.

He followed that up with the work on heart devices that he was due to present at Black Hat next week -- his first presentation at the annual convention since 2010. This year's Black Hat conference starts tomorrow in Las Vegas.

Jack told Reuters in an interview last week that he had devised a way to attack heart patients by hacking into a wireless communications system that links implanted pacemakers and defibrillators with bedside monitors that gather information about their operations.

"I'm sure there could be lethal consequences," he said.

The NSA Is Lying : U.S. Government Has Copies of Most of Your Emails Says NSA Whistleblower

National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney reveals he believes domestic surveillance has become more expansive under President Obama than President George W. Bush. He estimates the NSA has assembled 20 trillion "transactions" — phone calls, emails and other forms of data — from Americans. This likely includes copies of almost all of the emails sent and received from most people living in the United States. Binney talks about Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act and challenges NSA Director Keith Alexander's assertion that the NSA is not intercepting information about U.S. citizens.
